A large
sphere or “orange” is given to each child to represent the world. Four
sticks bearing fruit represent the seasons and a red ribbon around
the orange is for the sacrifice Jesus made. A candle in the middle is for
Jesus, the light of the world
We praise you, O God, that the Light of Christ
shines amid the darkness and trouble of the world and that the darkness and
troubles have not overcome it; and we pray that through this Christingle
Service, your light may shine more and more brightly in our lives, through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
